    18th Century Architectural Saint Hands of God, Carved wood life size hands.
    Most incredible pair of carved wood life size santos or saints hands from a large ornate religious sculpture. Likely church salvage they are of French or possibly Italian origin and date from the late 1700’s. Found at an estate in the north of France. Original painted surface patina and several early breaks in digits. Exquisite detail in carving. The hands of God, the pointing hand usually faced towards the heavens and the curled hand likely held scripture. Each measures approximately 14.5” long by 4” by 3.5”. They are stunning and very rare at this size. Sold as shown.
