    Description

    1975 Air
Force Flight School Class Year Book-Top Gun Fighter Jet Pilots-USAF
Williams Air Force Base, Mesa Arizona
Rather rare flight school class book, one just like the one depicted in the movie 'Top Gun'.
It never specifically states the year, a trait common to military year books. I deduced it from the 75-05 title of the class as well as the haircuts, which were rather lax for a while and the Ford Maverick shown in one picture. Or is it a Chevy Vega? The two models were very similar.
Williams AFB operated from 1941 until its closure in 1993. It supplied 25% of all Air Force pilots.
    From Wikipedia:
Williams Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force (USAF) base, located in Maricopa County, Arizona east of Chandler, and about 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Phoenix. It is a designated Superfund site due to a number of soil and groundwater contaminants.
It was active as a training base for both the United States Army Air Force, as well as the USAF from 1941 until its closure in 1993. Williams was the leading pilot training facility of the USAF, supplying 25% of all pilots.
