    It is curious that none of the other listings of this mailbox show Musgrave Company as the maker (stamped inside on the lid). Of the open and closed listings I looked at, this is the only one that is “patent pending”, instead of the 1901 copyright.
    Like most of the other mailbox examples you see, this one has no flag. The sheet metal corners are flared out some. The cast iron end pieces show rust. As pictured, the front clasp is broken.
