Antique French Gothic Revival Chestnut Wood Corbel/Beam/Pillar

Description of item for sale:
This massive corbel/beam
is from France and dates to the mid 1800's.  We do not know it's original use.  It is made from solid chestnut and finished to a warm medium color.  It likely had some additional decoration or figure mounted in the center panel.  Overall this piece is in very good antique condition with the usual amount of nicks and scratches from 100+ years of use.
