A fantastic pin.
Circa 1835, this Georgian era pin is in the form of Halleys Comet and is crafted from solid 10k gold. The nucleus, or head, of the comet features 7 natural pearls while the tail is a lovely .16 carat pink sapphire. The pin is not hallmarked, though it does test positive for gold between 9k and 10k. The pin back was replaced at some point in the past nearly 190 years and is not gold. Overall in very good condition with only light abrasions to the sapphires and expected signs of wear commensurate with age. A fabulous example of Halleys Comet pins and one that will make a perfect addition to a collection of any caliber!
