This adorable tree frog has a huge genuine precious
Mabe
Pearl
set on it's back.
Mabe
is the Japanese name for a cultured "blister" pearl
after
it has been removed from the oyster shell.  The back portion of a Mabe is always covered with mother of pearl.
It's set with 2 authentic rubies for eyes, each measuring 2.5mm each.
The frog measures 2 1/2" in length, by 1-3/4” width, and a 1/2” thick.
The lustrous genuine cultured
Mabe
pearl measures 7/8" x 1/2"
The brooch-pendant weighs 9.3 grams and is marked 14k.
Two sparkling 2.5mm red rubies are set as eyes.
The brooch can also be worn as a
pendant
on a necklace simply by passing a chain through the attached hook bail.  The bail accommodates a chain up to 3mm wide.
Although this is a vintage piece from the 1970’s,
it has never, or rarely ever, been used.
It is in excellent condition...destined to become a
cherished family heirloom.  Comes in a beautiful display gift box.
