Description
Taken from a home in the Druid Hills Rd / Briarcliff Rd neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia is this beautiful PAIR of iron hand railing that originally sat in the front porch/entry way to a beautiful old house. I could not bear to see it taken to a scrap yard and thought I could do something to incorporate it into my house. Never happened as does with many projects and now years later, being too late for me, it is offered to whoever can appreciate the workmanship and beauty of them. These are a solid, HEAVY pair! Beautiful oak leaf and acorns crisply done in the 2 panels each hand rail has and measuring approx. 2 feet tall. The straight main posts are hollow and I believe them to be steel, measuring 1" squares. The spindles I believe to be solid and measure .5" thick. There are straight spindles and twisted ones to add interest to the pieces. Top rail where your hand normally hugs is just shy of 2" thick and solid and is 61" long from the bend at the top to the bottom.
The straight hand rail that attaches one end to the wall/brick exterior of a home to the start of the stair bend measures 4 feet long.
I've had an engineer figure the slope which is 30 degrees (see next to last pictures for exact dimensions to figure slope. Please look at pictures as I tried to include every possible measurement of every section. Ask questions and I am happy to provide extra pictures. Pictures part of the description.
