    Description

Decororian Wood Carving from Antique Couch Architectural Salvage.
    Carved wood border salvage
Beautiful Victorian/Art Deco - aka, Decotorian what carvings of roses and rosettes, egg and dart detailing removed from very old couch in Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia
I brought this couch home first thinking I would reinforce & reupholster it, but realized dimensions were a little big for my 1920s bungalow, even with 15x12 rooms.
I know it seems like a crime to take that thing apart, but frame needed so much rehabbing, had to deconstruct.
These beautiful carvings are what’s left.
Pre-loved item in good vintage condition - for parts. At least one of the feet had a ding. Rest looked rather well-preserved, considering it’s long life before now. Designer friends agreed this has strong Victorian details in
carvings, particularly the rosettes - but shape of couch upholstery was almost Art Deco. Hence,
    Deco-torian.
Wood was very dense. Guessing walnut, maple, pecan - very fine grain, def. not oak or any kind of pine I've seen. Planned for this were to become an ornate headboard - but so far we haven’t made a move to get that started, so putting this out there -
These pretty early 1900s carvings would be suitable accents for:
    - ornate headboard or footboard
    - accents in boudoir style bedroom
    - carvings in custom library
    - custom window seat or buit-in bench
    - resurrected on another couch
    - custom fireplace mantle;
    - trim to hide icky flat screen tvs?
    - mounted like architectural taxidermy on posts the way RH does
    Adding measurements as we go

Preference for local pickup over shipping - bc,
Shipping weight will probably be between 30 and 35 pounds depending on packaging and box(es) — items on their own are just under 30lbs. Hence shipping cost is estimate, based on finding one box for everything to go in. We may need to adjust when time comes, two boxes may be necessary-depends on your urgency & our ability to procure right box! (think: wardrobe box for scale, but may too small for linear piece)
Long piece weighs almost 7 lbs on its own, approx 62” long and almost 6” at highest
Two front panels weigh 19-20lbs on own
packaging usually adds few pounds, could be from 3-5+.
Total weight is probably between 32 and 35 pounds
Hence, preferable to do local pick up
Love it but want it gone and to a good next home. Open to dividing.
