, the Rude Boys, and others help produce and write the nine songs on the set. The consortium didn't help
Rice
's luck, as none of the songs -- save for a remake of
Barry White
's "I'm Gonna Love You a Little More" -- really captivates.
Rice
's voice, a rich tenor-baritone, overpowers some of the tracks and seems out of place on the hip-hop selections. The grandiose ballad "Come a Little Closer" and the up-tempo "Who's Pleasin' You" are not time capsule material but are less mundane than the others.
Rice
also contributes some keyboards, and
Mark Anthony
